Summer Classes & Camp

Registration is now open for Movement Arts Atlanta’s summer classes and camp! Even while we are in the cold of January, MAA invites you to think about spring! For 2022, there will be a week of Give It a Try classes and a week of World Dance Camp. Programs are available for ages 3 through adult.

Give it a Try Week will be Tuesday, May 31 – Friday June 3. Classes are held each of the four days. There are three choices for the week. Kinderdance for ages 3 and 4 is fun class which develops gross motor skills. Ballet I for ages 5 and 6 which continues with joyful exercises and introduces the first steps of classical ballet. Multi-Age Beginning Modern is for ages 7 through adult, take place outdoors and combines yoga. beginning modern exercises and choreography.

World Dance Camp is for children ages 7 – 11 and will be held Monday, June 6 through Friday, June 10 from 9:00 am – 1:30 pm. Campers will have a modern dance warm up each day and then explore a different folk dance. For 2022, the students will learn Merengue, Bachatta, West African, Hula, Native American Intertribal Dance and Square Dance.

During World Dance Camp week, MAA students who participated in the 2022 Annual Student Recital will also be eligible to participate in Recital Redux. This is a rehearsal period and performances that are a part of MAA’s Outreach Performance Program. Currently, a performance at Wesley Woods Towers is confirmed and a second is to be determined.
