Weekly Classes

From June 15 – July 30, MAA will offer virtual classes and three-day camps. While MAA acknowledges that in-person classes are ideal, we have worked hard to improve the format and delivery of online content to connect with the students and families that we serve.

Weekly Classes

Virtual Kinderdance (age 4) uses fun and creative games and movement exercises to improve gross motor skillst, rhythm and class taking skills, all designed to support the study of ballet. Families will receive a class kit which includes socks (one pink for right foot, one blue for left foot), direction cards and space set up diagram. Limited to 8 students per class, 3 students required for class to make.

Virtual Ballet I (ages 5-7) includes the introduction of beginning ballet vocabulary; plié (to bend), tendu (to stretch), relevé (to rise) and sauté (to jump), and fun movement exercises to continue to nurture free movement. Families will receive a class kit which includes socks (one pink for right foot, one blue for left foot), direction cards and space set up diagram. Limited to 8 students per class, 3 students required for class to make.

Virtual Ballet II (ages 8+) works on the basics of ballet vocabulary including; plié (to bend), tendu (to stretch), relevé (to rise) and sauté (to jump). Introduction of secondary steps such as passé, and echappé are made while supporting development of strength and coordination. Families will receive a class kit with direction cards and space set-up instructions. Limited to 8 students per class, 3 students required for class to make.

Virtual Intermediate Ballet & Variations (ages 12+) is a class for an experienced student that would like support in developing great placement and clean technique. This focused time will be followed by learning variations from the great classical ballets such as Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote and Les Sylphides. Limited to 8 students per class, 3 students required for class to make.
